September 1-21, 2015 2015 Volunteer Award of Merit Nominations: Do you know an individual, team or group who is currently contributing to the betterment of the local community and Georgina as a whole? Show your appreciation for their dedication and hard work by nominating them for Georgina's 2015 Volunteer Award of Merit! The deadline to submit Nomination Forms or letters is September 21. Join us in celebrating our 2015 Volunteer Award of Merit recipients at the Awards & Reception at The ROC Chalet on November 24 starting at 6:30 PM.
September 9, 2015 Golf Fore Hospice - Lake Simcoe Arms Golf Tournament: Enjoy 18 holes of golf (scramble) at The Briar's, golf cart, and dinner at Lake Simcoe Arms with a silent auction. Funds raised go to support services provided by Hospice Georgina. Visit the Georgina Hospice website for registration forms, sponsorship information and fees.
September 10-18, 2015 Georgina 2015 Senior Games Registration: Are you up for a little healthy competition? The games are open to all Georgina residents who are 55+. Compete in your favourite games or try something new! Pre-registration is required for all games. Opening Ceremonies: September 22 & Closing Ceremonies: October 27. September 12, 2015 Join the Georgina Public Libraries for a free family concert to help celebrate the end of the TD Summer Reading Club! Step into Magoo's world and sing songs about dinosaurs, space ships, constellations, messy rooms, turtles, school buses and beautiful rivers. Location: Keswick Branch Library. Time: 11 AM.
September 12, 2015 Up the Maskinonge with a Paddle: Join members of the Maskinonge River Recovery Project for a guided non-motorized paddle tour of the Maskinonge River from 9 AM to 12 PM. Bring your canoe, kayak, rowboat or paddleboat and personal floatation device. Don't have a boat? No problem! The Georgina Dragon Boat Club will have a spot for you on theirs! Meet at the Boston Pizza - Keswick parking lot (253 Queensway South).
September 12, 2015 Lisa Brokop - The Patsy Cline Project: Lisa will transport the audience back to the hey-day of country music with her presentation of Patsy Cline classics. Accompanied by multi-media imagery, Lisa takes the audience on an incredible musical journey featuring some of Patsy Cline's most memorable songs. Cost: $21 +HST (seniors) & $23 +HST (adults). Location: The Stephen Leacock Theatre. Time: 8 PM.
September 12, 2015 Uptown Keswick Harvest Festival: Join the merchants of Uptown Keswick for a fall family fun day, including vendors market, BBQ's, and lots of kids activities. Location: Simcoe Avenue, Keswick. Time: 9 AM to 2 PM.

September 12 & 13, 2015 Chippewas of Georgina Island 2015 Pow Wow: Drumming, dancing, Hoop Dance Demonstration, and other specials! First Nation owned and operating Food and Crafts. Location: Sibbald Point Provincial Park. Cost: $10.75 per vehicle park admittance.

September 19, 2015 Georgina's Responsible Dog Ownership Day: Join us for the 8th Annual Canadian Kennel Club?s National RDOG Event. Saturday, September 19 from 10AM to 2PM. Walk begins at 12PM. Hosted by Georgina Animal Control. Participation fee: $5/ person or $10/family with all profits benefiting the Georgina Animal Shelter and Shades or Hope Wildlife Refuge.
September 19, 2015 P.A.R. Rabies Clinic: Low-cost rabies clinic hosted by College of Veterinarians and the Pefferlaw Association of Ratepayers. Cats and dogs must be over three months of age. Cats must be in a carrier and dogs must be leashed. Location: Pefferlaw Fire Hall (270 Pefferlaw Rd). Time: 10 AM to 1 PM. Cost: $25 per vaccination.
