April 1 - 30, 2014 Throughout April, volunteers in Georgina and across Ontario will be working together to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society during Daffodil Month. Support Canadians living with cancer. Make a donation, buy a daffodil pin and unite behind those living with cancer this April. April 16, 2014 The Ontario Trillium Foundation is holding a Propsal Writing Workshop at the Georgina Ice Palace from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Applying for grants to foundations is hard work and the fierce competition for funding makes it even harder. April 26, 2014 Hospice Georgina will be holding our 17th annual Pansy Sale on Saturday April 26th between 10-3 pm. Locations this year include: Pefferlaw, Sutton and Keswick LCBO's and No Frills in Sutton, Lake Simcoe Arms in Jackson's Point and The Beer Store in Keswick. Advanced orders may also be placed by April 23rd at the Hospice office in Sutton call (905) 722-9333. Funds raised by the annual pansy sale supports grief recovery and palliative care programs, volunteer education and client drop in programs. In 2013, Hospice Georgina provided over 5000 volunteer hours in Georgina. May 5, 2014 Boston Pizza Keswick is hosting a "Music Bingo Night" fundraiser for Hospice Georgina. Tickets are $25.00 each for a dinner (Chicken Parmesan or Tuscan Linguini) with salad, dessert and coffee/tea or a soft drink will be included. May 14, 2014 Smart Serve - May 14th from 9 am to 1:30 pm. Cost is $40. This course provides participants with the skills for serving alcohol in a safe manner and as it pertains to the current liquor laws in the Province of Ontario.

May 24, 2014 Georgina Salutes! From 10 a.m. - 4 a.m. at the Georgina Military Museum located at 26061 Woodbine Avenue. Georgina Military Museum on Woodbine Avenue just north of Keswick. It's a day for the community to honour and remember the sacrifices made by those who serve our country. It is a fun filled day of non-stop music, restored military vehicles, hunger satisfying BBQ food, face painting for the kids, exhibitions from re-enactors, and a great silent auction. It will also feature active service personnel from The Queens York Rangers who will bring an array of military hardware including their reconnaissance "G-Wagon".
