May 29, 2015 NFB Film Club - Fort McMoney: The documentary uses interactive game elements to allow users to decide the city's future and attempt to responsibly develop the world's largest oil sands. May 30, 2015 3rd Annual Cancer Recovery Co-Ed Slo-Pitch Baseball Tournament: Get a team together and let's play ball! This event is always a guaranteed home run with the Town of Georgina. Come out for some prizes, great local food, and some competitive fun for a great cause. All funds raised go toward Cancer Recovery Foundation of Canada programs that help those recovering from cancer. Location: West Park (1210 Ravenshoe Road, Keswick). Time: 8 AM to 6 PM. June 1, 2015 Customer Service Training for Tourism Operators: The GTA welcomes the Pan Am and Para Pan Am Games this summer! The games will be bringing many people to the area to stay, play, and explore. Although, Georgina is not hosting an event, there will still be an influx of visitors in the area. Let's create a lasting service legacy for the Town, and ensure that each and every visitor feels welcome and leaves with positive and lasting memories! The Town of Georgina and Town of East Gwillimbury have partnered to host a FREE Customer Service Training Program for anyone who works in the Tourism Industry, such as restaurants, motels/hotels, bed and breakfasts, retail stores, taxi service, museums, art galleries, etc. Location: The ROC Chalet. June 13, 2015 Georgina by the Lake House Tour 2015: Eight unique and private homes will provide a glimpse into Georgina's history and love of the waterfront in support of Georgina Community Food Pantry's Fresh Food Initiative. Tickets may be purchased at Team Peroff, Village Traditions, or by calling the Food Pantry at 905-596-0557 for a cost of $20 (May) and $25 (June). June 14, 2015 Georgina Idol Competition - Open Auditions: The Town of Georgina and Sutton Agricultural Society are holding open auditions for the 12th Annual Georgina Idol Competition at the Stephen Leacock Theatre starting approximately at 11 AM (Registration at 10 AM). Ten finalists will compete for the title of Georgina Idol 2015 at the Sutton Fair & Horse Show on August 6. The Grand Prize is $1000. Pre-registration is required to be eligible for an audition. Application Forms must be submitted to Tammi Roberts via mail (26557 Civic Centre Road, Keswick, ON, L4P 3G1), in person at the Civic Center, fax at 905-476-1475, or email on/before June 11. The $10 entry fee per contestant can be paid by mail-in cheque/in person at the Civic Centre before the Open Audition or by cheque/cash at the Open Audition.

By tracing the history of their ancestors since the signing of Treaty No. 9, these leaders aim to raise awareness about issues vital to First Nations in Canada, respect for and protection of their lands and their natural resources, and the right to hunt and fish so that their societies can prosper. July 1, 2015 Canada Day Celebration: Join us for a day of exciting festivities for the whole family. Enjoy live entertainment, children's activities, inflatables, food, and so much more. Location: The ROC and Georgina Pioneer Village. Time: 2 to 10 PM. Fireworks start at 10 PM sharp. Parking on site is limited. October 29, 2015 One Dark Night: Come and see what haunts Georgina through this interactive multimedia experience about Georgina's eerie past. The evening features local ghosts and chilling stories. November 21, 2015 Festival of Lights: Enjoy the magic and splendour of the holiday season as we light up the Civic Centre grounds in this annual event.
