Office of the Clerk (Clerk's Division)
Many of the functions performed in the Office of the Clerk are statutory duties sanctioned by the province. Some of the responsibilities of this division include: the preparation of committee and council minutes, agendas and correspondence for Council. This division also oversees the municipal Animal Control & Adoption Centre and the Municipal Law Enforcement (Bylaws) Office, school crossing guards, administers municipal leases, issues marriage licenses, officiates at marraige ceremonies, and acts as the official returning officer for municipal elections.
This office is also responsible for handling freedom of information requests, lottery and business license applications, recording vital statistic information for the province, and for running various committees such as the Accessibility Advisory Committee.
