Celebrate the community's heritage by exploring unique properties across Georgina's historic lakefront communities. In the mid-1800s,
Lake Simcoe’s waterfront was developed as a desirable vacation destination. Large estates, farm acreage and especially the shoreline
became prime vacation properties. The small beach communities gradually merged, and the cottages, lodges and cabins were converted
into an amazing array of private homes. Numerous heritage sites will be open to explore, with additional programming such as walking
tours and interpretive exhibits available at designated locations. The 2011 Sites are as follows::
- Arnold C. Matthews Nature Rreserve
- Cayley Hall
- Christ Church
- Deer Park Public School
- Eastbourne Golf Club
- Ingleside
- Loretto Maryholme Spirituality Centre
- Nordhoff
- North Gwillimbury Park
- Roches Point Eco-Park and Wharf
