Department of Planning & Building
The Department of Planning & Building administers the planning and development functions of the municipality. This responsibility is carried out in accordance with the Planning Act, Ontario Building Code, and any associated regulations and various provincial policy statements, the Town Official Plan and Zoning By-law. This department also undertakes implementing municipal economic development initiatives through working with the Economic Development Committee and other divisions and departments.
This department is headed by the Director of Planning & Building. The various divisions are managed by the Manager of Building/Chief Building Official, Manager of Planning, and the Economic Development Officer along with the assistance of a team of dedicated staff.
