Georgina commemorates National Day of Observance for COVID-19

The Town of Georgina is joining communities throughout Canada to commemorate March 11 as the National Day of Observance in memory of the victims of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the World Health Organization declaring a global pandemic. As of March 10, the Town of Georgina has had 697 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and 44 of those resulted in deaths.

Flags will be lowered at Town facilities in honour of the victims of the pandemic.
