There’s a lot happening in Georgina in June. From the Town’s first community open house to the Father’s Day swim, there are activities for the entire family to enjoy.

June is Recreation and Senior’s month

Participate in a different recreation activity each day of the month. Choose an activity that fits your interests or try something new! 

MURC Public Input Session

Join us for the next public input session for the MURC and share your thoughts on how it can serve our community. It takes place June 4 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Lake Simcoe Public School. If you can’t attend, you can fill out the online survey for the MURC or Civic Centre at georgina.ca/BuildingGeorgina. Hard-copy surveys are available at the Civic Centre, the three library branches, the Georgina Leisure Pool, the Link and Club 55 locations.

Summer Program Registration

It’s time to plan your summer. Registration for summer programs opens Tuesday, June 4 at 8:30 a.m. Residents can sign up for everything from aquatics and beach swim lessons to senior programs and workshops.

Community Open House

Join us for Georgina’s first Community Open House on Thursday, June 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Civic Centre. The Clerks Division, Customer Service and building counters will have extended hours of service. Meet Members of Council, the Town’s new CAO and learn about Town programs, services and projects. Enjoy a free barbecue by the Keswick Optimist Club and bring the kids for some fun activities and the opportunity to check out cool Town vehicles including a fire truck and snowplow. The first 25 residents will receive a free blue bin (one per household). Free giveaways and prizes to be won at the event.

Seniors BBQ

Come out rain or shine for a Seniors BBQ at Club 55 Keswick at noon on Friday, June 7. All are welcome. Tickets are available in advance at Club 55 Keswick for $6 per person.

55+ Flashback Dance

Get ready for a 55+ Flashback Dance  on Saturday, June 8 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Link. Live dance band Flashback will play “Good Old Rock & Roll” from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Tickets for this licensed event are available at Club 55 locations for $10 per person.

Keswick Cemetery Decoration Day

Join us for the annual Keswick Cemetery Decoration Day at 565 Varney Rd. on Sunday, June 9 at 11 a.m.

Georgina Idol – Registration deadline is June 13

Have you dreamed about being a star? Georgina Idol is an opportunity for youth aged 13-18 to shine and win a $1,000 grand prize! Open auditions are on Sunday, June 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Stephen Leacock Theatre. Contestants must pre-register by Thursday, June 13 and be a permanent resident of, attend school, or be employed in the Town of Georgina to be eligible to compete.

Father’s Day Swim

Join us at the Georgina Leisure Pool on Sunday, June 16 for our annual Father’s Day Swim from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Bring your dad and he swims for free with a paid admission.

Curbside Giveaway

The next Curbside Giveaway Day is on Saturday, June 22. Put unwanted items out at the curb from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for other residents to take free of charge. Unclaimed items must be removed by 5 p.m.

Robbie Lane and the Disciples

Get your tickets now to see Canadian music icons Robbie Lane and the Disciples, along with special guests Keith Hampshire and Little Magic Sam at the Stephen Leacock Theatre on Saturday, June 29.

Canada Day celebrations at the ROC

Get ready to party at the ROC on Canada Day, Monday, July 1. This exciting annual event gets underway at

2 p.m. Expect fun for the whole family including live entertainment, children’s activities, inflatables, food and fireworks.
