LSRCA - Watershed conditions statement flood outlook

You are here

The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority advises that significant rainfall is forecast in our watershed for late Sunday afternoon or early Sunday evening and through Monday, with predicted rainfall accumulations of 50-70mm. Higher amounts of rainfall may occur in localized areas, as a result of thunderstorm activity.

The forecast rainfall may result in flooding of low lying areas. All watercourses in our area will experience higher than normal water levels and flows. As a result, local streams and rivers will become dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts and bridges. Children should be warned to stay away from all watercourses.

This Watershed Conditions Statement will be in effect through Tuesday, May 19, 2020.
