Town adds yard waste collection day for Port Bolster residents affected by weekend tornado
Residents can take downed tree limbs and yard waste to curbside for pickup
As a result of the recent tornado that touched down in the Port Bolster community, the Town will provide an additional yard waste collection day on Monday, August 22.
This is in addition to the regular yard waste collection day held earlier this week as well as the one scheduled for Monday, August 29 for the area.
The Town’s waste management contractor GFL will follow the regular collection route in the Port Bolster community. Streets on the additional yard waste collection day include:
- Bolster Lane
- Corners Avenue
- Clovelly Cove
- Irving Drive
- Lake Ridge Road
- Port Street
- Riverview Beach Road
- Sandy Cove Lane
- Second Street
- Seventh Street
- Sixth Street
Please use environmentally friendly kraft paper bags or containers clearly labeled as ‘Yard Waste’.
Tree and shrub clippings must be tied with string and bundled. The maximum diameter of the tied bundles and shrub clippings is 60 centimetres (24 inches) and 90 centimetres (36 inches) in length. Bundles or bags must not exceed 22 kilograms (50 pounds) in weight.
Please remember to have your yard waste to the curb by 7 a.m.
For more information, residents should contact Kristine Stather in the Town’s Infrastructure and Operations Department at 905-476-4305 Ext. 2280 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
We wish to thank all affected residents for their cooperation and resilience during and immediately following the weekend storm.
