DocuPet comes to Georgina

The Town of Georgina has partnered with DocuPet Inc. to bring a new dog licensing program to the community. It’s a positive step in enhancing the dog licensing process, supporting proper dog identification and rewarding responsible pet ownership.

If you own a dog in the Town of Georgina, you are required to hold a valid pet licence.

You can license your pet online, over the phone, by mail or in person. 

Dog licensing in Georgina is managed by DocuPet Inc. Visit their website at to license your pet and learn more about their Lost Pet System and local DocuPet Rewards Program that are included with your pet licence.

How to License Your Dog

The Georgina pet licensing program is managed by DocuPet Inc. It provides a licensing solution that is simple and convenient, and includes added benefits for pet owners. You can license online in less than five minutes and will immediately gain access to your profile, which is used to reunite you with your pet in the event that it becomes lost. You will be in compliance as soon as you complete the form and your dog tag will be sent in the mail within 10 to 12 business days.

●      Over the phone by calling 1-855-249-1370 (Note this is not an option for pet owners licensing an altered dog for the first time as proof of spay/neuter certificate is required)

●       In person at any of these PDF icon locations (327.89 KB)

●       By mailing the PDF icon application (247.8 KB) along with a cheque made payable to the Town of Georgina.

Fees and Fines

Licences are required for all dogs living in Georgina. Licences must be renewed every year prior to the expiration date. Failure to present a valid licence will result in a fine of $125.

Please note that Georgina's licensing program operates on a 365-day cycle. This means that all licences expire the following year on the date they were purchased.

In order to receive the discounted altered rate, you will need to provide proof that your pet has been spayed or neutered. During the licensing process you are required to upload a legible digital file of the certificate. If you cannot locate your certificate, please contact your vet for assistance.
