The Town of Georgina has started a Sanitary Master Plan to evaluate existing wastewater infrastructure and determine its capacity to accommodate population growth. This plan will also support capital improvement programs and assist with preparing a development charge by-law.
The Town has retained GM BluePlan Engineering Ltd. to complete the Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Study. This study is being done in accordance with Approach #1 of the master planning process as set out in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011 and 2015), which is an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.
Public Information Centres
Residents are invited to participate in a virtual Public Information Centre (PIC).
The Town invites residents to view the study’s evaluation results and preliminary preferred recommendations through a virtual public consultation centre. This is an opportunity to learn more about the project and submit comments to the project team. The virtual PIC will present the following:
- Project overview
- Existing and future sanitary system issues
- Preliminary sanitary sewer system improvement alternatives
- Recommended sanitary sewer system improvement options
- Preliminary capital program
