The Department of Corporate Services is the main corporate service department in the Municipality. It provides customer service to internal departments as well as the public and ratepayers. This department works with the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer and the Clerk’s Division to ensure the decisions and directions of Council are followed.

The Director of Corporate Services/Treasurer is the department head.  The divisions in the Corporate Services Department are managed by the Manager of Finance/Deputy Treasurer, Manager of Information Technology Services, Manager of Procurement Services, and Manager of Taxation, Revenue and Customer Service.

Finance Division

  • The Finance Division is responsible for coordinating and analyzing financial transactions, which include; payroll, accounts payable, banking, and revenues.   In addition, this division facilitates and analyzes the annual budget, provides support to all divisions in regards to financial analysis, creates the year end financials in accordance with Canadian Public Sector Accounting Board standards, and creates, implements and enforces internal controls and policies that will safeguard the Town’s financial assets.

Procurement Services

  • Procurement Services is responsible for the sourcing and procurement activities for a large variety of goods and services required by the Town.  Opportunities to do business with the Town are posted on the Bids and Tenders section of the website.  

Taxation, Revenue and Customer Service Division

  • The Taxation, Revenue and Customer Service Division is responsible for establishing the Town’s property taxation, water and revenue policies with respect to revenue, maintenance and collection. Additional responsibilities include preparing and issuing property tax and water bills to all residential, commercial and industrial property owners; invoicing, accounts receivables, corporate cashiering, and revising and processing property assessment information received from the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC).

Information Technology Services Division

  • The Information Technology Services Division (ITS) is responsible for planning, strategically implementing and supporting the appropriate and innovative use of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure used throughout the municipality. ITS also assists all divisions and departments in implementing, integrating and streamlining business processes and helping to maintain business continuity.
