Calling all candidates. Thinking of running for municipal office? The nomination period for the 2026 Municipal Election begins May 1 and will remain open until Nomination Day on Aug. 21, 2026 at 2 p.m.
Nominations will be accepted for the position of Mayor, Regional Councillor, five Ward Councillors, trustees for the York Region District School Board and York Catholic District School Board, and trustees for the two French-language school boards, Conseiller(ère) - le Conseil Scolaire Viamonde and Conseiller(ère) - le Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir.
Anyone considering being a candidate is asked to make an appointment with the Clerk’s Division during business hours, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call the Clerk’s Division at 905-476-4301 or email clerks@georgina.ca.

The Town will post the names of registered candidates on the election webpage. The list of candidates will be updated regularly throughout the nomination period.
Georgina voters will be able to vote online or in person. Internet voting opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10 and will be available 24/7 until noon on Friday, Oct. 23. Voter information letters will be mailed out to eligible voters later this year.
In-person voting using tabulators will be available on select dates and times at designated voting locations for the advance voting period, and on Voting Day, Monday, Oct. 26, 2026. Visit georgina.ca/election for a list of voting dates and times.
