Watershed Conditions Statement - water safety

The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority advises that rainfall amounts of 30 mm to 50 mm are possible, beginning today and continuing through Sunday, with most of the precipitation expected to occur today.

Forecast rainfall amounts mixed with dry soils in the watershed may result in excess runoff, resulting in increasing water levels and flows in area rivers and streams, creating potentially hazardous conditions. The combination of wet, slippery and unstable banks could create hazardous conditions close to any river, stream or other water bodies. Children should be warned to stay away from all watercourses.

This Watershed Conditions Statement will be in effect through Monday, Nov. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
