The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority advises that a series of low-pressure systems will be moving through the watershed today through Sunday with predicted total rainfall accumulations of 10-25mm.
There is currently little snow cover on the ground due to the warmer than usual temperatures. However, the ground may still be saturated and frozen resulting in a rapid runoff response.
While widespread flooding is not expected, the possibility for flooding in various low-lying areas of the watershed exists due to the expected rainfall. Watercourses will be flowing higher than normal causing local streams and rivers to become dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts and bridges. Children and pets should be kept away from all watercourses.
This Watershed Conditions Statement will be in effect through Monday March 23, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
