Canada Day is back at the ROC! Get ready to celebrate Canadian pride in Georgina. Enjoy a full line up of amazing entertainment and family activities throughout the day followed by a fantastic fireworks finale. This is an event you won't want to miss.

Enjoy live entertainment, children’s activities, inflatables, food and more. Fireworks take place at 10 p.m.

Canada Day Frequently Asked Questions
1. When will the Canada Day event take place?
The Canada Day event will take place on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 2 p.m. – 10 p.m.

2. Where will the Canada Day event take place?
The Town of Georgina Canada Day Celebrations will be held at the ROC (26479 Civic Centre Rd. Keswick, ON) which includes the Georgina Pioneer Village.

3. Will there be alcohol available during the Canada Day celebrations?
Yes. Beer and coolers will be available on site in a sectioned off Beer Garden.  The Canada Day Beer Garden, operated by the Georgina Kinsmen, will be operational on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 2 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

4. Can I bring my pet to the Canada Day Celebrations?
Pets must be on a leash at all times.  Pets are welcome provided they are well behaved, non-aggressive and do not get stressed or anxious in crowded, stimulating or noisy situations.  There will be a large diversity of animals, small children, vehicles and many event-goers on site that day. Pets will be exposed to many unusual noises, people speaking loudly on microphones and fireworks. You know your pet the best, so please use your best judgment.

5. Shuttle buses – Where and when do they run?
Parkview Simcoe Bus Lines will be providing complimentary shuttle rides from various locations throughout Georgina to and from the ROC on July 1, 2022. Click to view the Canada Day Shuttle Schedule.

6. What time will the fireworks start?
Fireworks start at 10 p.m. sharp and are set off from the ROC hardball diamond located to the east of the Civic Centre Municipal building.

7. How long are the fireworks?
The fireworks display typically lasts about 20 – 25 minutes in length.

8. What happens if there is inclement weather?
This event will run rain or shine.  If any of the planned activities or fireworks were to be deemed unsafe due to inclement weather, notices will be posted on location and The Town of Georgina’s website and social media accordingly.  Check www.georgina.ca for updates. 

9. Is there an ATM on site?
There is not an ATM on site at The ROC.  Methods of payment will vary vendor to vendor. Harvey’s Swiss Chalet will be operating out of the ROC Chalet cafeteria and will accept credit card, debit and cash. The beer garden will be cash only.

10. Is there a cost for this event?
This event has offerings that are both free and where fees apply. 

Free offerings include, but are not limited to:

  • BJH Engineering inflatables and misting tent

  • Team Metherall – Real Estate – RE/MAX Stage and live entertainment

  • Community drum circles, archery trials, Zumba class, glitter tattoos, magic shows, pioneer putting

  • Wandering performances such as balloon artist, Knights in the Classroom – Roaming Pirates, fencing demonstrations and medieval battles, roaming stilt walkers, LED light performers,

  • Amenities such as splash pad, bike park, beach volleyball courts, Georgina Pioneer Village historical buildings

  • Canada Day birthday cake, Sobey’s refreshment stands

Fees apply to:

  • The Beer Garden is cash only and will be operated by the Georgina Kinsmen. 

  • Food vendors such as; Burger Bandits, Harvey’s/Swiss Chalet,

  • RE/MAX hot air balloon rides (weather permitting).

  • Rock climbing, high and low ropes courses are $5 per person per amenity. Will accept debit, cash or credit.

  • Canada Day vendor market

11. Is there a fee to park onsite?
There is no cost to park on-site at the event, however, parking will be very limited throughout the day. We highly suggest making use of our free shuttles to get to and from the event. Parkview Simcoe will be providing complimentary shuttle rides from various locations throughout Georgina to the ROC and back. Shuttle Schedule. Just a reminder, there will be absolutely no parking on Civic Centre Road for this event, in either direction.

12. Are there any overnight accommodations in the area?
There are variety of accommodation choices available in the Town of Georgina, which cater to families, business travelers, weekend explorers and event goers.

13. Can I sit on the ROC ski hill to watch fireworks?
For the safety of event goers, use of the ROC Ski/Tube Hill is strictly prohibited.

14. How do I become a Canada Day Volunteer?
We are recruiting volunteers for Canada Day. Volunteers will assist in areas such as: 

  • Assist with attractions such as; games, inflatables, entertainment, etc.

  • Assist with food and beverage service.

  • Assist with shuttle bussing, parking and directions.

  • Assist with wayfinding and information booths.

15. What is the lost children policy for the day of the event?
If you are planning to bring your little ones to this event, we recommend having children wear a wristband or bracelet with your cell-phone number written on it so we can reunite parents with children, in the event that they go missing.
Any child that is found without a parent will be taken to the Information Kiosk located inside of the ROC Chalet. If you have a child that is missing on-site, please inform the nearest police officer on duty to help you with your search. (Tip: take a photo of your child(ren) prior to heading out that day, also agree on a meet up place beforehand in the event you lose each other).

17. Are The ROC and Georgina Pioneer Village Accessible?
The ROC is accessible. We having the following measures in place to assist those with disabilities:

  • The parking lot is ground level.

  • There are five accessible parking spots located in front of the ROC Chalet.

  • We have sliding doors for easy access in and out of The ROC chalet.

  • Public washrooms and portable washrooms are accessible.

  • Signage all throughout the property for easy way-finding around the grounds.

If you require assistance, let us know and we will do our best to make sure you have an enjoyable experience at The ROC.
The Pioneer Village buildings are partially wheelchair accessible, however the village grounds are uneven and do not have sidewalks. Please notify us in advance of your accessibility concerns so that we can do our best to accommodate you during your visit.
