Help protect Lake Simcoe’s shoreline and waterways.

Join the Invading Species Awareness Program on Friday, July 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Young’s Harbour Park in Keswick for a hands-on volunteer event focused on mapping, tracking and managing water soldier.

Water soldier is an invasive aquatic plant first detected in Cook’s Bay in 2024. It can spread quickly, impacting local ecosystems and recreational access. Volunteers will learn how to identify, track and report water soldier in Lake Simcoe.

Participants must bring their own canoe or kayak, paddles and personal and boat safety equipment.
