Celebrating Public Works Week in Georgina
Public Works Week is a time to celebrate the essential services that make our daily lives safer, healthier and more enjoyable. The 2026 theme, “Rooted in Service, Powered by Community,” highlights the vital role public works plays in everyday life and the important connection between these services and the people they support.
Every road driven, every glass of water poured, every beach enjoyed and every streetlight glowing at night is thanks to the efforts of public works professionals. Some of this work is easy to see, while much of it happens behind the scenes, all of it supporting a safe, healthy and thriving community.
In Georgina, public works services are proudly delivered through the Operations and Infrastructure Department and the Community Services Department. Together, these teams provide the services residents rely on every day, keeping the Town’s infrastructure, public spaces and facilities safe and dependable. Their work is rooted in service and felt throughout the community in everyday moments and essential services.
Throughout Public Works Week, the Town recognizes and thanks the individuals who keep Georgina moving forward.
