Get involved in Georgina’s 2026 budget process

The Town is developing the 2026 budget and needs your feedback. Georgina passes a budget every year to determine how funds will be invested into the community. Tax dollars go towards a variety of programs and services that families rely on every day – from road work and water and wastewater improvements to snow clearing and recreation programs.

The Town is inviting residents to get involved in the budget process and provide feedback:

  • Visit georgina.ca/budget to take the online survey. Tell us how your tax dollars should be invested by completing the survey and be entered to win a $100 Visa gift card. The contest is open to Georgina residents and business owners who are 18 years of age or older. Town staff are not eligible to participate.
  • Hard copies of the budget survey will be available at the Civic Centre, Georgina Public Library, the Multi-Use Recreation Complex and the Link.
  • A public information session will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 12 at the Civic Centre from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Town staff will be available at the following community events –
    • Saturday, July 26 – Car Show and Community Festival at the Pefferlaw Lions Community Park 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Sunday, Aug. 17 – Farmers’ Market at the Link 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    • Thursday, Aug. 21 – Starlight Cinema Night at the ROC 8:15 p.m.
  • Provide feedback via email to budget@georgina.ca by submitting ideas, comments or questions.

Public input is a vital component to the budget process. The deadline for the survey is Aug. 22, 2025, and the results will be included as part of the proposed budget presented to Council on Nov. 5. Council budget deliberations take place on Dec. 2 and Dec. 3. For more information and to stay up to date on the budget, visit georgina.ca/budget.
