Southlake Health is proud to partner with Treasure Hill to bring its first Advanced Care Centre to Georgina. This marks a major milestone in the development of Southlake’s Distributed Health Network and its plans to expand access to care closer to home for patients and families across northern York Region and southern Simcoe County.
“Today marks an exciting step forward in our vision to build a more connected health system for the communities we serve,” said Paul Woods MD, President and CEO, Southlake Health. “Together with Treasure Hill, the Town of Georgina and our partners in care, we are bringing leading edge care, even closer to home through our Distributed Health Network.”
This new community-based health facility will be located at the southwest Corner of Woodbine Avenue and Old Homestead Road. By bringing care closer to home, Southlake’s Advanced Care Centre will improve access to care and enhance the patient experience.
Today’s announcement follows a process launched by Southlake in May to identify a partner with the land and development expertise to help bring the Advanced Care Centre to life. Together, Southlake and Treasure Hill will advance plans in collaboration with the Town of Georgina for a purpose-built facility designed around the current and future health needs of the community.
“For Treasure Hill, community building extends beyond developing homes—it’s about ensuring that our residents have access to the very best health care, when they need it most,” said Nicholas Fidei, President, Treasure Hill. “We are proud to partner with Southlake Health to bring the first Advanced Care Centre to Georgina. There is no greater investment we can make than in the health and well-being of our families, friends and neighbours.”
Over the next decade, Southlake’s Distributed Health Network will transform how care is delivered across northern York Region and southern Simcoe County. The network will include a redeveloped Davis Drive hospital, a new hospital in East Gwillimbury, and community-based Advanced Care Centres in Georgina and Bradford West Gwillimbury. Together, these sites will create a more connected system of care, making it easier for people to access the right care, in the right place, while increasing access to meet the needs of some of Ontario’s fastest growing and aging communities.
“This milestone reflects the power of strong relationships, partnerships, and a shared commitment to our community,” said Mayor Margaret Quirk, Town of Georgina. “I want to recognize Treasure Hill, Southlake Health, the Northern York South Simcoe Ontario Health Team and everyone who has helped move this initiative forward. The Advanced Care Centre will enhance access to care for residents across Georgina at every stage of their life. This is about more than a new health care facility, it is about accessibility, dignity and ensuring our community has the health services it needs, now and for generations to come. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together.”
