Winter operations crews will be removing snow from roads throughout the community.
To allow crews to safely and effectively clear snow, parking is not permitted on affected streets between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on scheduled snow lift days. Temporary parking restrictions will be posted on streets where snow removal is planned. Residents will receive 48 hours notice before work begins on their street. Watch for signage indicating when your street is scheduled.
Keeping vehicles off the road helps crews move through quickly, clear snow to the curb and reduce the need for repeat passes.
Help keep roads clear and safe
Residents are reminded to help support winter maintenance efforts by following these winter safety tips:
- Do not throw or shovel snow or ice onto roads or sidewalks.
- Keep waste and recycling bins off snowbanks.
- Leave at least one metre (three feet) of space on either side of the new recycling cart so collection crews can safely access it.
- Priority roads are cleared first based on emergency routes, traffic volumes, transit routes, steep hills and key community locations.
- Have extra driveway space? Consider allowing a neighbour to park there during snow clearing to help keep roads clear.
