Watershed Conditions Statement: Flood Outlook

You are here

The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA) advises that a significant storm has tracked into southern Ontario today bringing much needed rainfall to the area. Widespread rainfall in the amounts of between 25 and 40mm is expected for most areas with the possibility of up to 60mm in some locations.  The possibility for localized flooding in low lying areas of the watershed exists due to this expected rainfall. The forecasted rainfall will result in higher than normal water levels in all our rivers and streams. As a result, local streams and rivers may become dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts and bridges. Children should be warned to stay away from all watercourses.  This Watershed Conditions Statement will be in effect through Wednesday, August 17th, 2016. For more information, please viisit the LSRCA website at: http://www.lsrca.on.ca/
