Town Council has proclaimed September 9th as 'International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Awareness Day (FASD Day) and the month of September as FASD Month throughout the Town of Georgina to raise awareness that FASD remains the leading preventable cause of developmental disabilities without a Canadian National Strategy, to educate everyone about risks associated with alcohol exposure during pregnancy and encourage community-wide support.
