Council for the Town of Georgina has proclaimed Thursday, September 4, 2025, as 'National PKD Awareness Day' throughout the Town of Georgina to raise awareness of Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), a life-threatening, genetic disease often leading to kidney failure, and of the PKD Foundation of Canada, the only national organization solely dedicated to fighting PKD through research, education, advocacy, support and awareness.
