The Town hosts a variety of celebrations and events throughout the year, these are called Town Events. The Town also support a variety of events run by other organizations, these are called Town-Supported Events and identified with an asterisk (*).

Winter 2024

Taste of Georgina

Taste of Georgina invites you to experience the Town’s prix fixe food event that will awaken your taste buds and allow you to explore a variety of local cuisines. Each of our participating restaurants throughout Georgina prepare special menus at set price points that showcase their offerings, so bring some excitement to the table and feel good about doing your part to support local businesses. Easter Egg Hunt Swim

Join us for public swims, an in-water Easter egg hunt and Easter fun in the gymnasium at the MURC. Pre-registration is recommended for swims.

  • 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. - various activities, games, colouring and Easter fun will be held in the gym. 
  • 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. - Parent and child swim register
  • 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - public swim register
  • 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. - public swim register

Wristband and regular admission fees and policy apply to all swims.

Cardboard Toboggan Races

New date

The Cardboard Tobbogan Race will now be held on Sunday, March 10 at the ROC

Georgina’s annual cardboard toboggan races are back!

Get ready to hit the toboggan hill at the ROC 

Spend the day with your friends and family on the toboggan hill.

Use your imagination and build the ultimate toboggan out of cardboard, then register and race it.

Award categories include fastest, farthest travelled, most creative, largest and “ROC” bottom.

Georgina Spring Fling Race*

The Spring Fling Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km and 5km course runs along the shores of Lake Simcoe. The course is fast, flat and scenic, with lots of shade and views of stunning properties. Come and run your personal best or come and enjoy running a route that makes you feel like you’re running down south along the ocean’s edge without actually being there. The marathon is a certified Boston qualifier course. Learn more and register.

The Georgina Farmers’ Market features more than 30 local vendors offering a wide variety of local products, including produce, meats, baked goods and handmade products.

Beach Bash

Sutton Fair and Horse Show*

The Sutton Fair and Horse Show is a four-day family event hosting live music, truck and tractor pulls, demo derbies, horse and livestock shows, kids games, a full midway and beer tent.

Saturdays at ClearWater Farm*

Georgina Mayor's Charity Motorcycle Ride and Poker Run

Join the Town of Georgina's Mayor's Motorcycle Ride and Poker Run.

A charity event benefiting Sutton Legion Branch #356

Georgina Marathon and Half-Marathon*

Run along the south shore of Lake Simcoe through the quiet communities of Georgina on this flat, fast and scenic Half Marathon and Boston Qualifier Marathon course.

The 1/2 marathon and full marathon courses are measured and Athletics Canada Certified - which means they are accurate and qualify for things such as the New York and Boston Marathons.

Participants run from De La Salle Park, along Lake Drive North on an out-and-back along a quiet road with lots of shade and views of stunning properties.

Club 55 Open House

Club 55 Keswick is Georgina’s older adult active programming centre.

Members have access to special events, lunches, outings, programs and leagues that will not only keep you physically and mentally active, but provides a space where adults 55 years or older can come together to relax, socialize, meet new friends and have fun! 

Join us at the open house and learn about membership, program, league and special event information from our Club 55 – Keswick board of directors, program convenors and recreation staff members while mingling, enjoying light refreshments and club activities such as table tennis, billiards and carpet bowling.

Georgina Studio Tour*

For the last quarter century, in Georgina, an ever-evolving group of dedicated artists has worked together to show their art to the public.

This two-day self-guided tour is your opportunity to visit homes and studios, that for the rest of the year, are available by appointment only.

Chippewas of Georgina Island Pow Wow*

Experience a traditional Pow wow and a day at the shores of Lake Simcoe. Discover drumming, dancing, hoop dance demonstrations and First Nations-owned and operated food and craft vendors.
