Church Street (west of Metro Road)/Shorecrest/Shoreline Place)

Church Street and Shorecrest Road connect Metro Road North to Lake Drive North, Shoreline Place is a cul de sac branching off Church Street.

Project details

  • Status: Work is completed except for swale improvements in Parkette, to be completed in spring 2021
  • Ward: 2
  • Start: Winter 2019
  • End: Completed

Improvements: New water services along Church Street, drainage improvements, new sidewalk and curbs, AODA compliant crossings and improvements made to Joy Marritt Parkette

What to expect day-to-day: Winter shut down

The Queensway (Morton Avenue to Church Street)

The Queensway is a two-lane collector road which runs through the heart of uptown Keswick.

Project details

  • Status: Work is complete, waiting final walkthrough approval with minor deficiency repairs to be completed in spring of 2021
  • Ward: 2
  • Start: July 2019
  • End: Spring 2021

Improvements: Asphalt resurfaced and isolated concrete repairs

What to expect day-to-day: No construction presence

Simcoe Street

Simcoe Street is a three-lane collector road which connects Uptown Keswick.

Project details

  • Status: Status: Work is complete, waiting final walkthrough approval with minor deficiency repairs to be completed in spring of 2021

  • End: Spring 2021
  • Improvements: Site cleanup and minor repairs

What to expect day-to-day: No construction presence

Carrick Avenue, Natanya Boulevard, Wexford Drive and Fontaine Drive

These are a series of two-lane local and collector roads in the Keswick by the Lake subdivision.

Cryderman Sideroad and Miles Road (south portion)

These are two-lane rural collector roads which connect local residents to Highway 48.

  • Status: Winter closure, shouldering work to be tendered and completed in spring 2021

What to expect day-to-day: No construction presence

Old Shiloh Road

Old Shiloh Road is a two-lane rural collector connecting Cedarbrae and Udora

Project details

  • Status: All surface work completed. In spring, waiting final walkthrough approval with minor deficiency repairs to be completed in spring of 2021
  • Ward: 5
  • Start: July 2020
  • End: Spring 2021
  • Improvements: Asphalt resurfacing

What to expect day-to-day: No construction presence

Brook Crescent, Otter Cove, Healthbank Avenue, Deerhurst Lane and Sibbald Crescent

These roads are a series of local roads in the Forestry subdivision.

  • Status: Winter closure, shouldering work to be tendered and completed in spring 2021
  • Ward: 5

B1 – Baldwin Road Bridge Rehabilitation

Baldwin Road is a two-lane bridge 260 metres east of Catering Road

Project details

  • Status: Complete
  • Ward: 4
  • Start: September 2020
  • End: November 2020
  • Improvements: Bridge concrete repairs and road resurfacing

What to expect day-to-day: All work is complete, site has been cleaned up

B2 – Frog Street Bridge Rehabilitation

Frog Street Bridge is a wooden bridge 2 km west of Park Road

Project details

  • Status: All work complete
  • Ward: 4
  • Start: Fall 2020
  • End: November 2020
  • Improvements: Replacement of one pier cross brace and road resurfacing of approaches

What to expect day-to-day: All work has been completed, site cleaned up. 

B3 - Old Shiloh Road Bridge Rehabilitation

Old Shiloh Road Bridge is a two-lane narrow bridge 2.6 km east of Park Road

Project details

  • Status: All surface work completed. Due to in water environmental restrictions late in the year, remainder of work under the bridge to be completed in 2021
  • Ward: 5
  • Start: Fall 2020
  • End: Spring 2021, repairs will not disrupt traffic
  • Improvements: Bridge concrete repairs, installation of new traffic signs, road resurfacing

What to expect day-to-day: No disruptions over winter, in spring traffic to single lane but bridge will remain open

Development construction projects 

Catering Road

From Dalton Road to Country Mile

Project details

  • Status: Starting Mar 15, 2021
  • Ward: 4
  • Start: March 15, 2021
  • End:  September 2021
  • Improvements: Site servicing for development

What to expect day-to-day: Minor delays, full and partial rolling closures

Treasure Hill Development

Church Street full closure and detour route expected soon, between Natanya Boulevard and Woodbine Avenue.

Project details

  • Status: Starting April 19, Treasure Hill will be working on Connell Drive to Church Street; during this time primary entrance to the subdivision will be from Glen Rye. Expect some shoulder occupancy and delays on Church Street due to the activity around the intersection. Starting April 22, Treasure Hill will be closing Church Street and commence the reconstruction of CHurch Street from Natanya Boulevard to Woodbine Avenue. Full closure will be in affect with detour routes.

  • Improvements: Church Street urbanization, watermain, sanitary, curbs and sidewalks and storm sewers

Dovedale Drive Extension

Road extension from Tim Jacobs Drive to Roselm Avenue

  • Status: Work in progress
  • Ward: 1
  • Start: September 2020
  • End: Preparing for winter shutdown
  • Improvements: Undergrounding services and road construction

What to expect day-to-day: Ongoing construction

Black River Road Forcemain Construction

From Stadacona Avenue to entrance of Sutton Water Resources Facility

  • Status: Work in progress
  • Ward: 4

Cedar Ridge

Church St (East of Natanya)

No changes, full closure still in affect with detour routes

Cedar Ridge

  • Internal works taking place for Phase 1 for the remainder of the year; this includes construction of more than 50 units as well as ongoing civil works - expect increased noise.
  • Increased trucking on Hwy 48 as this is the primary ingress and egress for the site
  • Vehicular access to the site from Hawkins Street will be for small vehicles and residents only
  • On-going external improvements near Market Street to the northeast of fairgrounds – expect noise and routine maintenance
