Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Projects

Water, wastewater and stormwater projects

The Town of Georgina manages the operation, maintenance and repair of the Keswick and Sutton Water Distribution System and Wastewater Collection System. This includes water mains, valves, hydrants, water and wastewater pumping stations and lateral connections. These systems service the residents and businesses within Georgina. The water and wastewater stormwater projects include the improvement and maintenance of these systems.

Current projects

In addition to the major projects listed on the Building Georgina web page, the Water, Wastewater and Stormwater team is working on other improvement projects around the Town.

Hollywood Drive and Tampa Drive - Keswick

Polybutylene Water Service Replacements

The Town of Georgina replaced water service connections along Hollywood Drive and Tampa Drive in Keswick in the summer of 2023. There will be future polybutylene service replacements in 2024 and 2025. The locations will be determined and communicated to the local residents.

The water service connections are made of polybutylene, a material that has a reduced service life. The polybutylene water services in the area have frequently leaked, causing expensive emergency repairs. The Town is proactively replacing the polybutylene water services with copper water services.
