Stay up-to-date with all of the events happening around the Town of Georgina by checking the Events Calendar.

The Town hosts a variety of celebrations and events throughout the year, we call these Town Events. We also support a variety of events run by other organizations, these are called Town-Supported Events and identified with an asterisk (*).

Old Fashioned Christmas and Festival of Lights Countdown

Event date Sat, Nov 26, 2022, 3 - 5:30 p.m.

Join us on Saturday, Nov. 26 to kick off the holiday season in Georgina.

Take a walk back in time at Old Fashioned Christmas and experience a traditional 19th-century holiday celebration with the Georgina Pioneer Village decorated for the season. Enjoy live music, a chance to meet with Santa and complimentary hot chocolate and cookies.

$2 -16 yrs+

At 5:30 p.m. make your way to the front of the Civic Centre to join in on the countdown to the Festival of Lights. Enjoy a magical holiday tribute with festive animated lighting set to music, fun for the whole family!

Link Winter Market

Are you coming to the Link Winter Market? It takes place on Sunday, Nov. 27 and Sunday, Dec. 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be bustling with all kinds of artisans, crafters, bakers, artists, foodies, music and so much more. The place to be for that one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted gift or just to have a great Sunday.

Be a Santa to a Senior

Make a difference in the life of a senior this holiday season by providing a Christmas gift to a long-term care resident at Cedarvale Lodge and River Glen Haven. Visit one of the participating stores in our community to pick up a Christmas wish tag and help spread a little holiday cheer.

  1. Select a “Christmas wish” tag from one of the local participating storefront locations.
  2. Fulfill the wish list and shop for your gift.
  3. Deliver your gift to one of the local participating storefront locations. After Dec. 11 gifts can be dropped off at Club 55 Keswick, 130 Gwendolyn Blvd.

Starts in Jackson's Point, travels down Dalton Rd. to High St., along High St. and ends at the fairgrounds.

Festival of Lights Continues

Enjoy the lights all season long. Experience the Festival of Lights Nov. 27 through until Jan. 2, 2023. Travel along the ROC parkway and Civic Centre grounds in your vehicle while experiencing a magical holiday tribute with festive animated lighting set to music that can be enjoyed through your car radio on channel 101.7FM.

Spring 2023

Volunteer Award of Merit

Georgina’s Volunteer Award of Merit recognizes individuals, teams and groups who are contributing to the betterment of the local community and Georgina as a whole.

Nomination process starts in February and runs until the end of March.

Ceremony happens in late May.

Georgina Farmers' Market*

The Georgina Farmers’ Market features more than 30 local vendors offering a wide variety of local products including produce, meats, baked goods and handmade products.

Georgina Spring Fling Race*

All event courses follow Lake Drive and you will run along the beautiful shores of Lake Simcoe! This course is FAST and FLAT. The community of Georgina has embraced our event and you will have lots of spectator support along the way including a couple of dedicated cheering stations as well as music from HITS 105.5 FM along the course to keep your energy and motivation up!

Music in the Streets*

Music In the Streets is a free, public event, showcasing live music in the Georgina community. 10-12 performance areas will provide music from students, instructors and musicians from the community. An all-day BBQ is available which will support a local charity.

Military Day*

Browse war memorabilia displays, restored WW2 trucks and equipment, and experience reenactments from 1812 to WW2.

Shake your Buoy*

Shake Your Buoy

This is a free day-long music event on a sandbar of Lake Simcoe, headlined by Z103.5’s very own DJs Manzone & Strong. The event will feature live DJ performances happening on a hi-fidelity sound system.

Purple Turtle Arts Festival*

See amazing paintings, sculptures, photography, pottery and woodcraft that will be featured during this two-day event.

An event featuring yoga classes, music acts, vendors and a “Georgina’s Got Talent” competition.

Pefferlaw Picnic and Car Show*

A free family event featuring games, inflatables, educational displays, contests and an antique car show.

Painted Perch*

Enjoy music, games, food, vendors, and local shops while local artists, young and old, showcase their talents in multiple mediums.

Sutton Fair and Horse Show*

The Sutton Fair and Horse Show is a four-day family event hosting live music, truck and tractor pulls, demo derbies, horse and livestock shows, kids games, a full midway and beer tent.

Experience a self-guided farm tour that takes you throughout the Town’s lakeside landscape to local farms where you’ll enjoy tours, samples and educational experiences.

Fall 2023

Georgina Mayor's Charity Motorcycle Ride and Poker Run

Four-hour Scenic Route (with stops)

The event starts at the Civic Centre with coffee and muffins, and ends at the Sutton Legion approximately four hours later with a BBQ (choice of steak, chicken or vegetarian).

Georgina Marathon and Half-Marathon*

Run along the south shore of Lake Simcoe through the quiet communities of Georgina on this flat, fast and scenic Half Marathon and Boston Qualifier Marathon course.

The 1/2 marathon and full marathon courses are measured and Athletics Canada Certified - which means they are accurate and qualify for things such as the New York and Boston Marathons.

You will be running from De La Salle Park, along Lake Drive North on an out-and-back along a quiet road with lots of shade and views of stunning properties.

Georgina Studio Tour*

For the last quarter century, in Georgina, an ever-evolving group of dedicated artists has worked together to show their art to the public.

This two-day self-guided tour is your opportunity to visit homes and studios, that for the rest of the year, are available by appointment only.

Chippewas of Georgina Island Pow Wow*

Experience a traditional Pow wow and a day at the shores of Lake Simcoe. Discover drumming, dancing, hoop dance demonstrations and First Nations-owned and operated food and craft vendors.

The Live Laugh Love Country Music Festival is taking over the Briars Resort and Spa on Lake Simcoe in Georgina.
