The Town hosts a variety of celebrations and events throughout the year, we call these Town Events. We also support a variety of events run by other organizations, these are called Town-Supported Events and identified with an asterisk (*).

Spring 2023

Georgina Farmers' Market*

The Georgina Farmers’ Market features more than 30 local vendors offering a wide variety of local products including produce, meats, baked goods and handmade products.

This town-supported event is managed by the Georgina Farmers' Market.

Saturdays at ClearWater Farm*

Get outside, and explore nature. Shop a variety of local vendors, listen to live music and pick up farm-fresh food. Follow a self-guided tour and have the whole family work together with art in nature and yoga and wellness programs.

Date: May 27 to Oct. 7, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This is a Town-supported event hosted by ClearWater Farm.

All Pride No Prejudice Pride 2023*

Date: June 2, 2023, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Experience live performances by local Drag Queens and Drag King.
Location: Stephen Leacock Theatre of the Performing Arts,130 Gwendolyn Blvd., Keswick

Date: June 11, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Enjoy a BBQ, art projects and music to celebrate Pride.
Location: Georgina Centre for Arts and Culture, 149 High St., Sutton

Georgina Pride Day*

Date: June 10, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Enjoy a BBQ, more than 45 vendors, talent performances and a series of decorated cars on parade to celebrate the accomplishments and history of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

This is a Town-supported event hosted by Georgina Pride.

Military Day*

Browse war memorabilia displays, restored WW2 trucks and equipment, and experience re-enactments from 1812 to WW2 at the Georgina Military Museum on June 17, 2023.

The Town of Georgina is looking for vendors to celebrate with us on July 1. For a low registration fee, vendors can connect directly with customers. Complete the vendor permit application.

Free Spirit Summer Fest*

This one-of-a-kind festival will include a variety of exhibits, speakers, and music that celebrate freedom of expression, movement, voice, and love through community connection.

Date: July 2, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sutton Duck Races*

A fun day for the entire family. Enjoy kids games, vendors, indigenous art and music, food booths and the rubber duck races on the Black River.

Date: July 15, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Location: 93 - 163 High St., Sutton

This is a Town-supported event hosted by the Sutton BIA.


Shake your Buoy*

This is a free day-long dance music event on Lake Simcoe. The event will feature live DJ performances happening on a hi-fidelity sound system.

Date: July 22, 2023 from noon to 7 p.m.

Location: Lake Simcoe, just off Duclos Point Nature Reserve’s shore.

Purple Turtle Arts Festival*

See amazing paintings, sculptures, photography, pottery and woodcraft that will be featured during this two-day event.

Date: July 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and July 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: The Briars Resort and Spa Meadow, 991 Lake Dr. E., Jackson’s Point, ON.
Entrance through the old Red Barn Theatre

This event is hosted by the Purple Turtle Arts Festival.

Georgina Yoga and Music*

On Saturday, July 29, 2023, experience yoga classes, musical acts and vendors on the shores of Lake Simcoe at ClearWater Farms.

This is a Town-supported event hosted by Two Feathers Yoga.

Pefferlaw Picnic and Car Show*

A free family event featuring games, inflatables, educational displays, contests and an antique car show.

Date: Aug. 7, 2023

Location: Pefferlaw Community Lions Hall, 38 Pete’s Ln. Pefferlaw

This is a Town-supported event hosted by Pefferlaw Association of Ratepayers.

Painted Perch*

Enjoy music, games, food, vendors, and local shops while local artists, young and old, showcase their talents in multiple mediums.

Date: Aug. 12, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sutton Fair and Horse Show*

The Sutton Fair and Horse Show is a four-day family event hosting live music, truck and tractor pulls, demo derbies, horse and livestock shows, kids games, a full midway and beer tent.

Date: Aug. 10-13, 2023

Starlight Cinema Nights

Bring your own comfy lawn chairs and/or blankets and enjoy a movie in the great outdoors!

Field to Table

Experience a self-guided farm tour on Aug. 19, 2023, that takes you throughout the Town’s lakeside landscape to local farms where you’ll enjoy tours, samples and educational experiences. Learn more.

This is a Town event hosted by the Economic Development and Tourism Office.

Fall 2023

Georgina Mayor's Charity Motorcycle Ride and Poker Run

Event date time and details will be announced at a later date. 

Four-hour Scenic Route (with stops)

The event starts at the Civic Centre with coffee and muffins, and ends at the Sutton Legion approximately four hours later with a BBQ (choice of steak, chicken or vegetarian).

Georgina Marathon and Half-Marathon*

Run along the south shore of Lake Simcoe through the quiet communities of Georgina on this flat, fast and scenic Half Marathon and Boston Qualifier Marathon course.

The 1/2 marathon and full marathon courses are measured and Athletics Canada Certified - which means they are accurate and qualify for things such as the New York and Boston Marathons.

Participants run from De La Salle Park, along Lake Drive North on an out-and-back along a quiet road with lots of shade and views of stunning properties.

Date: Sept. 10, 2023

This is a Town-supported event hosted by Georgina Marathon.

Celebrate the arrival of autumn at the Georgina Historical Society's Harvestfest featuring live music performed throughout the village, local craft, vegetable and food vendors, vintage cars and more.

Georgina Studio Tour*

For the last quarter century, in Georgina, an ever-evolving group of dedicated artists has worked together to show their art to the public.

This two-day self-guided tour is your opportunity to visit homes and studios, that for the rest of the year, are available by appointment only.

This is a Town-supported event hosted by Georgina Studio Tour.

Chippewas of Georgina Island Pow Wow*

Experience a traditional Pow wow and a day at the shores of Lake Simcoe. Discover drumming, dancing, hoop dance demonstrations and First Nations-owned and operated food and craft vendors.

Date: Sept. 23 and 24, 2023

Location:  20798 Dalton Rd., Sutton (Sutton High School grounds)

Tarts4Hearts Butter Tart Festival*

If you like butter tarts, you do not want to miss this accessible event. Browse and purchase tarts and other goodies from Ontario bakers.

Date: Oct. 14, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Georgina’s annual cardboard toboggan races are back!

Get ready to hit the toboggan hill at the ROC 

Spend the day with your friends and family on the toboggan hill.

Use your imagination and build the ultimate toboggan out of cardboard, then register and race it.

Award categories include fastest, farthest travelled, most creative, largest and “ROC” bottom.

Georgina Spring Fling Race*

The Spring Fling Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km and 5km course runs along the shores of Lake Simcoe. The course is fast, flat and scenic, with lots of shade and views of stunning properties. Come and run your personal best or come and enjoy running a route that makes you feel like you’re running down south along the ocean’s edge without actually being there. The Marathon is a certified Boston Qualifier course. Learn more and register.
