Stay up-to-date with all of the events happening around the Town of Georgina by checking the Events Calendar.

The Town hosts a variety of celebrations and events throughout the year, we call these Town Events. We also support a variety of events run by other organizations, these are called Town-Supported Events and identified with an asterisk (*).

Do you know an individual, team, group or business worthy of this award who volunteered in 2022?

The Georgina Farmers’ Market features more than 30 local vendors offering a wide variety of local products including produce, meats, baked goods and handmade products.

This is a Town-supported event and is managed by the Georgina Farmers' Market.

Georgina Spring Fling Race*

The Spring Fling Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km and 5km course runs along the shores of Lake Simcoe. The course is fast, flat and scenic, with lots of shade and views of stunning properties. Come and run your personal best or come and enjoy running a route that makes you feel like you’re running down south along the ocean’s edge without actually being there. The Marathon is a certified Boston Qualifier course. Learn more and register.

This is a town-supported event that is managed by Endurance Event Productions.

Music in the Streets*

Music In the Streets is a free, public event, showcasing live music in the Georgina community. 10-12 performance areas will provide music from students, instructors and musicians from the community. An all-day BBQ is available which will support a local charity.

This is a Town-supported event hosted by Connors Music.

Military Day*

Browse war memorabilia displays, restored WW2 trucks and equipment, and experience re-enactments from 1812 to WW2 at the Georgina Military Museum on June 17, 2023.

Pride Festival*

A two-day event of inclusive, accessible, intersectional and affirming queer-led programs, events and activism in Georgina.

Shake your Buoy*

Shake Your Buoy

This is a free day-long music event on a sandbar of Lake Simcoe, headlined by Z103.5’s very own DJs Manzone & Strong. The event will feature live DJ performances happening on a hi-fidelity sound system.

Purple Turtle Arts Festival*

See amazing paintings, sculptures, photography, pottery and woodcraft that will be featured during this two-day event.

Georgina Yoga and Music*

On Saturday, July 29, 2023, experience yoga classes, musical acts and vendors on the shores of Lake Simcoe at ClearWater Farms.

This is a Town-supported event hosted by Two Feathers Yoga.

Pefferlaw Picnic and Car Show*

A free family event featuring games, inflatables, educational displays, contests and an antique car show.

This is a Town-supported event hosted by Pefferlaw Participation Action Results.

Painted Perch*

Enjoy music, games, food, vendors, and local shops while local artists, young and old, showcase their talents in multiple mediums.

Sutton Fair and Horse Show*

The Sutton Fair and Horse Show is a four-day family event hosting live music, truck and tractor pulls, demo derbies, horse and livestock shows, kids games, a full midway and beer tent.

Starlight Cinema Nights

Bring your own comfy lawn chairs and/or blankets and enjoy a movie in the great outdoors!

Field to Table

Experience a self-guided farm tour on Aug. 19, 2023, that takes you throughout the Town’s lakeside landscape to local farms where you’ll enjoy tours, samples and educational experiences. Learn more.

This is a Town event hosted by the Economic Development and Tourism Office.

Fall 2023

Georgina Mayor's Charity Motorcycle Ride and Poker Run

Event date time and details will be announced at a later date. 

Four-hour Scenic Route (with stops)

The event starts at the Civic Centre with coffee and muffins, and ends at the Sutton Legion approximately four hours later with a BBQ (choice of steak, chicken or vegetarian).

Georgina Marathon and Half-Marathon*

Run along the south shore of Lake Simcoe through the quiet communities of Georgina on this flat, fast and scenic Half Marathon and Boston Qualifier Marathon course.

The 1/2 marathon and full marathon courses are measured and Athletics Canada Certified - which means they are accurate and qualify for things such as the New York and Boston Marathons.

You will be running from De La Salle Park, along Lake Drive North on an out-and-back along a quiet road with lots of shade and views of stunning properties.

Harvestfest*

Celebrate the arrival of autumn at the Georgina Historical Society's Harvestfest featuring live music performed throughout the village, local craft, vegetable and food vendors, vintage cars and more.  

Admission by donation to Georgina Historical Society (cash only).

Georgina Studio Tour*

For the last quarter century, in Georgina, an ever-evolving group of dedicated artists has worked together to show their art to the public.

This two-day self-guided tour is your opportunity to visit homes and studios, that for the rest of the year, are available by appointment only.

Chippewas of Georgina Island Pow Wow*

Experience a traditional Pow wow and a day at the shores of Lake Simcoe. Discover drumming, dancing, hoop dance demonstrations and First Nations-owned and operated food and craft vendors.

The Live Laugh Love Country Music Festival is taking over the Briars Resort and Spa on Lake Simcoe in Georgina.

Take a walk back in time at Old Fashioned Christmas and experience a traditional 19th-century holiday celebration with the Georgina Pioneer Village decorated for the season. Enjoy live music, a chance to meet with Santa and complimentary hot chocolate and cookies.

Georgina’s annual cardboard toboggan races are back!

Get ready to hit the toboggan hill at the ROC 

Spend the day with your friends and family on the toboggan hill.

Use your imagination and build the ultimate toboggan out of cardboard, then register and race it.

Award categories include fastest, farthest travelled, most creative, largest and “ROC” bottom.
