Georgina, as part of York Region, has entered the Grey-Lockdown category of Ontario’s COVID-19 response framework to slow the spread of COVID-19. All Town buildings, facilities and programs will be closed/cancelled for a minimum of 28 days. The province moved York Region into this category – the most stringent under the provincial framework – to stop the spread of COVID-19 in order to keep schools open in the regions where in-class learning is permitted, safeguard health system capacity, and protect the province's most vulnerable populations.
All Town indoor recreation facilities will be closed to the public and all in-person programming cancelled. Those impacted by cancelled programs and third-party rentals will be contacted directly. The Town will refund all user fees charged. All memberships have been put on hold and the length of the membership will be extended. Visit georgina.ca/recreation for more information.
With outdoor activities permitted as part of the grey zone, the ROC and Pefferlaw Ice Pad will be opening soon with strict health and safety measures, and capacity limits in place, weather permitting.
The Town of Georgina strives to provide recreation activities for all ages and abilities that are affordable, accessible and promote healthy active lifestyles. All programs are designed to be as inclusive as possible to better serve children, youth, adults, seniors and those with special needs.
The Town of Georgina is excited to announce a series of new virtual programs. Register starting Dec. 17 at 8:30 a.m. for residents and Dec. 22 at 8:30 a.m. for non-residents.
