All residents who are serviced by private wells are responsible for the quality of their water source. It is recommended that all residents on a private well sample their water supply on a regular basis.
Water sampling bottles and additional information regarding private wells, well water testing and sample drop off locations are available from the Regional Municipality of York, Public Health Department.
Georgina water sample drop off
Until further notice, private well water sample pick up and drop off is limited to two locations (noted below) from Monday to Thursday only (closed statutory holidays). It is recommended that samples are submitted the same day as they are collected. Keep water sample refrigerated until drop off.
Georgina – 24262 Woodbine Ave. Keswick (behind Tim Hortons) – sample drop off from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Pickup of well water sample bottle – Bottle for testing can be picked up from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday
Newmarket – 17150 Yonge St. (NW corner of Yonge and Eagle Street), Newmarket – sample drop off from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Pickup of well water sample bottle – Bottle for testing can be picked up from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday
Alternatively, water samples for private citizen drinking water can be dropped off at the Public Health Laboratory located at 81 Resources Rd., Etobicoke, from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (closed statutory holidays).
