Town of Georgina Council meets throughout the year to make decisions on municipal matters, from passing bylaws to adopting committee recommendations.
Town of Georgina Council meetings are open to public and held at the Civic Centre, in the Council Chambers. The meetings are a hybrid model, providing staff, Council members and the public the option of participating either in person or virtually. In addition, Council meetings are live streamed on the Town of Georgina Agendas, Minutes and Meetings page. Should you be unable to attend the meetings, you are welcome to listen through the Live/Archived Broadcasts webpage.
Virtual meeting dates
To facilitate the move of existing hybrid Council meeting equipment to the Replacement Civic Centre, the following Council meetings will be held in an exclusively virtual format:
- Jan. 21, 2026
- Jan. 28, 2026
- Feb. 4, 2026
- Feb. 11, 2026
Members of the public can continue to participate virtually during this period. In-person attendance will not be available until the transition is complete, with a return to hybrid (in-person and virtual) Council meetings set for Feb. 25, 2026
- To view or listen to meetings only, access the relevant live stream on the Agendas, Minutes and Meetings page. Members of the public can watch live during the time of the meeting or view a recording later.
- Virtual participation can be done either over the phone or via Zoom. In either case, the appropriate form must be submitted to the Clerks’ division within the prescribed timeframe. Learn more in the “Speak at Council or committee meetings” section below.

Speak at Council or Committee meetings
Public consultation is an important part of the Council and Committee process. If you wish to speak at Council or Committee meetings – either in-person or virtually - you must first complete one of the following forms:
- Delegation Request Form – Complete this form if you wish to speak or make a presentation regarding an item that is not listed on a Council agenda. Delegations are limited to five minutes. A five-minute extension to speak may be decided by a majority vote of Council. Regardless of participation method, Delegation Request Forms must be received no later than 10:00 a.m. on the Monday 10 days prior to the Wednesday meeting to pre-register.
- Request to Speak Form - Complete this form to request to speak at a Council meeting on an agenda item. Speakers may speak once for up to five minutes. Virtual requests to speak must be submitted by noon the day before the meeting. In‑person requests to speak are encouraged to be submitted in advance and may also be submitted prior to the start of the meeting.

Be advised, the name and address of anyone submitting comments will appear in the public record and will be posted online following the meeting.
