Service Level Sustainability and Investment in 2017 Budget

Georgina Council has unanimously passed the 2017 Tax Levy Budget that delivers on creating a sustainable plan for maintaining service levels while accommodating growth, by approving a tax increase of 4.5%. After blending the increase with rates set by The Region of York and the school boards, property taxes for an average home in Georgina will increase by 3.4%, translating to about $126 per household valued at $327,140.

LSRCA Notice: Watershed Conditions

The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority advises that the Surface Water Monitoring Centre is forecasting a weather system that will track across Southern Ontario on Tuesday, February 7 bringing total precipitation of up to 25mm and temperatures that could reach as high as 10 degrees Celsius.  Precipitation is expected to begin as snow before transitioning into freezing rain or rain in the afternoon.

The 2017 Interim Property Tax Bills have been mailed. It is payable in two installments, the first on February 27, 2017 and the second on April 27, 2017.

The 2017 Interim Tax Billing(s) that you will receive is based upon 50 per cent of the total taxes levied on your property in 2016. It is important to note that the total taxes for 2017 will not be calculated until later this year when the 2017 tax rates for the Town of Georgina, Region of York and the Ministry of Education have been established.

Due to the structual fire that took place in south Keswick today, GFL will be collecting all missed waste and recycling materials on Friday, January 27. Residents are asked to keep their matierials curbside or to put them out by 7 a.m. on Friday, January 27.

The additional waste collection is for residents located on the west side of The Queensway from McMillan Drive south to Ravenshoe Road and on the north side of Ravenshoe Road from The Queensway to West Park Heights (including West Park Heights).

2016 Winter Holiday Service Schedules

The Georgina Civic Centre will be closed to the public from Monday, December 26 to Monday, January 2. The Georgina Civic Centre will be open on Friday, December 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
