Please be advised that preventative maintenance is scheduled for the Simcoe Landing Water Booster Station beginning 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 17 until 5:00 a.m. Mon Dec 18th. This maintenance reduces the chances of unplanned service disruptions.

The 2018 Budget process continues at the Town of Georgina, bringing forward financial recommendations to best position the Town to meet the needs of residents.

The 2018 Draft Budget proposes a tax increase of 1.95% in-line with the annual rate of inflation, while meeting the needs of a growing community and planning for the future. Council received an additional recommendation to add another 1% to enhance capital reserves. If approved, the total tax increase would be set at 2.95%.

Yard Waste pickup has concluded for 2017, resuming in spring 2018. Residents are reminded that during the winter, yard waste may be taken to the Georgina Transfer Station located at 23068 Warden Avenue, Keswick.

Council endorsed recommendations as set out in Service Delivery Review Progress Report (#8) Financial Policy Framework Part D - Surplus/Deficit Control measures by-law.  The introduction of the proposed financial control measures will result in higher financial stability for the Town while providing an opportunity to top up crucial reserve and reserve funds for capital or operating programs. The by-law provides clear guidance and set criteria for staff to better manage the year end process in an efficient manner.

The Georgina Civic Centre will be closed from Monday, December 25 to Monday, January 1, re-opening Tuesday, January 2, 2018. The Georgina Civic Centre will be open on Friday, December 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon.

ROC-EE the bear is wanted for trespassing! He left his georginaroc.ca territory and has crossed over onto georgina.ca He was last spotted on Parks, Trails & Green Spaces but he could be anywhere now.
