The Taste of Georgina will run between Sat., Feb. 6 and Fri., Feb. 19 (14 days/2 weeks) and celebrate Georgina's diverse cuisine by profiling fine dining experiences at a range of price points. The event will consist of a prix fixe program offered by Georgina’s participating dining establishments.

Three-course prix fixe lunch and dinner menus will be offered at $15, $20 or $25 for lunch and $25, $35 or $45 for dinner (beverages, taxes and gratuities not included) per person. The three-course menus will include a choice of appetizer, lunch and dessert options.

Participation is free for restaurants that meet the eligibility requirements.

How much does it cost a restaurant to participate in the Taste of Georgina event?

There is no cost to participate. Complete the application form online before January 8, 2020.

What is the deadline for restaurants to apply?

The deadline is Jan. 8, 2020.

Are there any COVID-19 restrictions?

Due to the changing nature of COVID-19 restrictions, the Taste of Georgina will be promoted as a take-out, delivery or pickup dining food series. In the event that indoor dining is permitted between Sat., Feb. 6 and Fri., Feb. 19, each participating restaurant will have the option to allow dine-in reservations.

Why does the prix-fix menu have to be a few dollars cheaper than my average menu items?

The objective of this event is to encourage customers to purchase meals from restaurants in Georgina and try new culinary experiences through this food series. A discounted menu will entice customers to utilize this promotional period to try multiple locations in Georgina. The Town of Georgina will offer participating restaurants value for their discounted menu in the form of promotions: including traditonal and social media advertising, blog posts, videos and photos taken at all participating restaurants.

What are the eligibility requirments for restaurants to participate?

Eligible participants must:

  • be an existing, full-service restaurant
  • be located in the Town of Georgina
  • possess a current York Region Green Proof of Public Health Inspection sign
  • complete the Taste of Georgina Application Form
  • demonstrate that the average price of a three-course meal on the restaurant’s regular lunch and/or dinner menu meets the minimum requirements as outlined in the following table:
