Livestock Investigators

You are here

Each Term of Office, the Town of Georgina Council appoints individuals to act as ‘Livestock Investigators’.

The Ontario  Wildlife  Damage  Compensation  Program  (OWDCP), administered by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), provides compensation to eligible applicants whose livestock and/or poultry have been injured or killed as a result of wildlife. This program requires municipalities to appoint a Livestock Investigator to investigate incidents of livestock and/or poultry damage that have been reported to the Clerk of the Municipality.

Livestock Investigators play a key role in this program, therefore must have a thorough understanding of the program and be available to investigate the claim within three business days of having been notified.
