Due to the freezing rain, ice pellets and snow fall that occurred on Tuesday, December 29, Georgina public safety and emergency management officials have issued a warning to drivers to drive with extreme caution. Listen to local radio/TV for the latest broadcasts. Weather warnings, watches, forecasts and other hazard information can also be obtained 24 hours a day using a Weather Radio. If you must drive, please do so with care and be aware of changing weather conditions. Always drive with caution. Roads crews continue to work hard to clear, sand and salt to make your commute safe.
Rural Brush Clearing Around Georgina
We would like to advise residents and businesses that our Roads Division will be completing rural brush clearing during the winter months. This is being completed to ensure the safety of the travelling public during the winter season. Please note, if our road crews have cut down brush and have not yet removed it, they will return to pick it up.

New Year Will Begin With Adopted Budget
With unanimous support, Georgina Council has adopted the 2016 Tax Levy Budget, approving a 4.3% increase for the Town’s share of the property tax bill. This represents an additional $73 a year for a household with a current value assessment of about $297,000.

Earlier this year, Canada Post announced that approximately 4,100 door-to-door customers in Keswick will be converted to Community Mailboxes in 2015 as part of their conversion of approximately 1/3 of Canadian addresses. Canada Post has issued a statement surrounding a temporary delay of the program to convert door-to-door mail delivery to community mailboxes.
