The Community Initiatives Fund provides financial support to local groups and individuals in Georgina.
Funding supports:
- Fundraising events
- Programs that address food insecurity
The fund is made possible through proceeds from the annual Mayor’s Charity Golf Classic. It helps strengthen the community and respond to local needs.
What has been supported?
The fund has supported a range of local initiatives, including:
- Georgina Feral Cat Committee’s 10th Anniversary Fundraiser
- Peaceful Hearts Georgina Foundation’s Tarts 4 Hearts Buttertart Festival
- Pefferlaw Lions Comedy Night Fundraiser
- Georgina Pride Optimist Club Pride Event Fundraiser
- Community meals at Keswick High School and Sutton District High School
Support has also benefited local organizations such as:
- Georgina Food Pantry
- Sandgate Women’s Shelter of York Region
- Shades of Hope Wildlife Refuge
- Free community meal programs
Funding can help cover:
- Facility rentals
- Permit fees
- Event supplies
- Food costs
