    Parking at waterfront parks expands in light of progress

    Coinciding with the province’s Roadmap to Reopen plan, and in light of progress being made with the vaccination rollout and COVID-19 case numbers declining, and the stay-at-home order being lifted, the Town is pleased to announce it is cautiously taking the next step in opening its waterfront parks. Beginning June 10, 2021 parking lots will be available to both resident parking pass holders and those without.

    Watershed Conditions Statement - Flood Outlook

    The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority advises that conditions are ideal over the next few days for the development of severe thunderstorms. Showers with possible risk of thunderstorms may begin later this afternoon and continue through Wednesday.

    Splash pads open for the season

    Summer is still a few weeks away, but the splash pads are now open.

    The Town has three splash pads – the ROC, Whipper Watson Park and Const. Garrett Styles Park.

    Splash pads are open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

    The 2020 Community Snapshot is here! This annual publication highlights the progress made on our strategic goals.

    2020 saw a lot of change in the community as it dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. From moving services and Council meetings online to offering virtual events and new business services, there was a lot of positive change in 2020.

    Parking at waterfront parks and beaches available to resident pass holders

    The Town of Georgina’s three major waterfront parks – Willow Beach, Holmes Point and De La Salle Beach and Park – are open with restrictions. While today marks the lifting of the stay-at-home order, at this time, parking lots continue to be available to resident pass holders only as further data is collected on how to manage the parks safely.

    Second-dose COVID-19 vaccine appointments now available for York Region residents 70 years of age and older

    The Regional Municipality of York is continuing to deliver COVID-19 vaccines to eligible residents as quickly as possible.

    Effective immediately, eligible York Region residents 70 years of age (born in 1951 and earlier) who already have a second dose appointment booked now have the option to re-book an earlier appointment. New appointments can be booked online or by phone by visiting york.ca/COVID19Vaccine

    Town of Georgina marks National AccessAbility Week

    From May 30 to June 5, the Town of Georgina is celebrating National AccessAbility Week. This is a week dedicated to disability inclusion and accessibility in Canada. This year’s theme “Disability Inclusion 2021: Leaving No One Behind” is in line with the Government of Canada’s plan to build back better. It expands on the disability-inclusive approach, initiatives and measures the government has taken throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
