Dance Yoga

Dance yoga is a versatile form of yoga that combines yoga poses with various styles of fluid dance movement performed to music.
What to expect: In this class, you will learn an assortment of dance yoga routines with various blends of yoga poses and sequences, as well as dance movements and combinations, all choreographed to specific songs. Demonstration and instruction will be provided for each song. Some routines do include floor work; however, all routines can be modified to accommodate a range of abilities and experience levels. This is not a traditional yoga asana practice; be prepared to expect a fusion of fluid movement, rhythm, and music. Both yoga and dance typically get the heart pumping and generate heat in the body; dress accordingly, and be prepared to get a little sweaty. Both yoga and dance are known to bring stability, balance, poise, and overall well-being in your body, mind and spirit, as well as reduce anxiety levels, increase body awareness, build flexibility, and increase the production of feel-good endorphins, which trigger a happy feeling in the body. Be prepared to enjoy some of these benefits. This is a drop-in program, registration is recommended.
