Overview
The Town of Georgina has completed the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA Study) to determine the preferred method of improvement to Old Shiloh Bridge East. The recommended solution is to remove the existing bridge and construct a new two-lane bridge. The Town will also be assembling a committee to review and evaluate options to commemorate the existing bridge
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment - Project File Report
The Town has completed this project through the Schedule ‘B’ process of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (2023). As such, public and technical agency consultation played a key role in developing the study recommendations.
A project file report documenting the planning process undertaken, details of the study recommendations as well as potential impacts and mitigation measures, has been completed and is being made available for public review. Refer to the links below for additional information related to the project.
Interested persons may provide written comments to our project team by May 22, 2024. All comments and concerns should be sent directly to the project contacts listed below, or the Ministry of Environment, Conservation, and Parks. Please refer to the Notice of Study Completion link below for additional details regarding comments.

The Municipal Class Environmental Assessment public comment period commenced on April 22, 2024, and closes on May 22, 2024. Refer to the notice in the link below.
After May 22, 2024, the procurement of engineering services for detailed design of the new two-lane bridge will commence. Construction is anticipated to commence in late 2025 or early 2026, pending environmental timing windows.
